Foresta is a duo that revisits American and Irish folk through a contemporary and personal lens. Through songs adapted into Catalan, original arrangements and their own compositions, the project builds an intimate and warm sonic universe rooted in acoustic music and tradition.
Their repertoire draws from old-time folk, bluegrass, traditional Irish and Nordic music, as well as singer-songwriter traditions, blending these influences with a distinctive and contemporary sensibility.
In 2026, Foresta enters a new phase with the release of their first original songs in Catalan, exploring the singer-songwriter side of the project in greater depth without leaving behind the folk essence that defines them. Their debut album, Esclat de maig, is out now.
The duo is formed by Ion Cortada (guitar and vocals) and Marta Pairó (violin and vocals), and was founded in mid-2023 between Alt Empordà and Pla de l’Estany.
