Minibús Intergalàctic
60s psychedelia to ’90s noise
Minibús Intergalàctic is a rock band formed in Girona in 2021 by Aram Figueras (lead guitar, vocals), Ivette Roig (bass), Eduard Lazo (drums), Ícar Iranzo (keyboards, lead vocals) and Santi Fonfría (guitar, lead vocals). A group of friends from their university years, they decided to start a rock band in order to create and listen to the kind of music they felt was missing from the local scene.
Regulars on the mod, garage and psychedelic circuits, in 2023 they released their first full-length album, *Meditacions des dels Miratges Mercúrics*, produced by Vicente Maciá (Carrots, Pigmy) and released by NEU!. Their debut established a clear devotion to the sound and aesthetics of the 1960s, drawing on bands and artists such as The Byrds, The 13th Floor Elevators and Pau Riba, while also expressing the anxieties of a post-pandemic and post-*Procés* generation. A year later, they released *Música humana: Thalassa*, a four-track EP that revealed a shift towards a more contemporary sound, influenced by ambient music, noise and neo-psychedelia.
Since their live debut at BCN Psych Fest in April 2024 at Sala Upload, the band has toured extensively across Catalonia. From neighbourhood cultural centres and grassroots venues to Adoberies Fest, Heliogàbal and Festival Cruïlla, Minibús Intergalàctic have shared stages with local acts such as Remei de ca la Fresca, Fetus, La Ludwig Band and Ypnosi, as well as international bands including DAIISTAR, A Place To Bury Strangers and The Mystery Lights.
Over the past two years, the band has received artistic support from La Marfà and was selected for the Cases de la Música 2025 programme, helping them develop and prepare their second LP throughout 2025.
They are now releasing their second full-length album, *Moviment oscil·lant polinòmic*. Continuing the evolution already hinted at in their previous work, the band explores new textures influenced by neo-psychedelia, noise, shoegaze and the post-punk of the 1980s and 1990s. Recorded at Casa Estudio (Granada) and Casa NEU! (Salt) in autumn 2025, the album was co-produced by Martin Glover “Youth” (Killing Joke), Enric Teruel and Xavier Salvatella. Without losing sight of their core influences, Minibús Intergalàctic move towards a rawer, darker and noisier sound, drawing inspiration from bands such as The Jesus and Mary Chain, Spacemen 3, The Stone Roses, Ride and Slowdive.
